Good Morning South Africa.
As a people, we have travelled a long and difficult journey.
After our painful and divided past we emerged into the light of democracy with hopes and dreams and a belief in the prospect of building a new country. I remember feeling a sense of pride when I could stand in a long queue with my diverse fellow South Africans to vote in 1994. I was finally a citizen in the country of my birth.I greet you all in the strange and difficult times, having never thought I would see the day when my government would decide what kind of clothes I can buy and wear.
On the 6th of December last year, I launched The People’s Dialogue.
I did so, after resigning from the DA and realising what so many South Africans have come to realise for some time. Our political parties are holding us back as a people, they are the despair in our country, and are not the hope that we need.
In August this year, we will launch a new political party arising from The People’s Dialogue which saw millions of South Africans participating in discussions aimed at shaping a shared future for our country.
Through their submissions, participants put forward innovative and workable solutions to some of the country’s greatest challenges and expressed their commitment to the project of fixing South Africa.
